Who we are

Caring For People.

At La Corde we believe that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty in our community. We’ve built our programs around nurturing the physical, mental, social, and spiritual lives of the youth in our center. Our mission is simple: through education and compassion we want to be the support system that the youth need within the community to build a better and more stable future.

What we do

Caring For People.

Every weekday from 7am to 4:30pm, we open our doors to students aged 6-12, providing a full meal for breakfast & lunch and an afterschool homework session with a snack.
We focus on 5 key elements:
Nutrition: Providing daily breakfast & lunch so kids don’t go to school hungry.
Life Skills: Building a social toolkit encouraging healthy choices in every aspect of each child’s life.
Homework Assistance: Providing kids with tutoring help to ensure their academic success.
Resources: Equipping kids with all necessary back to school supplies as well as computer access.
Mentoring: Investing in individual relationships to guide and support them through life’s issues.

How we do it

What we do is great but how we do it is even greater!

Physical: Our breakfast and lunch programs make sure everyone is healthy and well fed to jumpstart and maintain a productive day.
Mental: Our tutoring and mentoring programs give the kids the opportunity to succeed and improve their self-esteem, transforming their lack of hope into big dreams for brighter futures.
Social: Our La Corde family provides a safe environment for kids to build meaningful relationships, reassuring them that they are not alone and have a community they can turn to for support.
Spiritual: Our discussion groups and personal relationships with the kids help address their spiritual needs and uplift them with God’s love.
